Vault of Midnight Newsletter: Sep 24, 2011

As hinted at last Newsletter, we've bad-assed up the comic shop by, oh, a million percent or so in the past couple of weeks:

  • Brand new shelves for our world renowned Zone of Employee Recommendation, nearly doubling the number of titles we can make fun of you about for not reading.
  • A massive reshuffling and upgrade to our "Creator" (or Snob-Fest Books) Section in the basement; what before was merely a supremely efficient depository of irregularly shaped books is now more closely akin to a cozy, pretentious home away from home. No sitting allowed.
  •  New, space-age lighting for our Glass Display Shelves. Warning: merchandise is now so attractive and enticing that it should not be looked on directly without parent or guardian's permission.
  • A giant board game display thing!

Basically, you'll be like, "What? What is this comic shop? Surely this is some millionaire's luxury estate!" But it's totally not.

All the better to house all of the events coming up in the next couple of months! Recognize:

 Sunday, September 25, 11am to 5pm
Yard Sale! This is Tomorrow!

The Sullivans are having a yard sale! You know: The Sullivans (They own the comic shop that sponsors this newsletter)! Liz Sullivan would like to pass this message along:

"Since we live pretty far from the downtown area, we thought we'd have a sweet garage sale in the basement of the Vault to make it as accessible as possible to all the people who might be interested!  We'll be posted from 11am to 5pm.  Swing by and check out the stuff.  I wouldn't be surprised if you found ten things you wanted! Fifteen years worth of THINGS! It'll be awesome.  Trust me, I've seen all of it."

End of Events

We also read comics this week! In this week's segment of, "Hey, what was your favorite comic this week and why was it dope?" we peek into the piles of Vault's Minions:

"Hey, what was your favorite comic this week and why was it dope?"

  • Liz - Half World: So Flowery! While technically not a comic book, I could totally see the pictures with make believe in my head!
  • Xmas - Daredevil #3: Did you know Daredevil is BLIND?!? Mark Waid totally remembered this obscure fact about Daredevil!
  • Nick - Petrograd: History is Fun in Comics! Also spies, political assassination, and Rasputin.
  • Curtis - Batman #1: Had all the things I wanted from a Batman comic: Batman, detecting, butt-kickery, and a cool hook. Plus Alfred is the sh!t.

That's All! Please attend all of these events and read all of these comics!
