The Vault of Midnight in a nutshell The Vault opened it's doors on July 1 1996 in a not so spacious 500 sq. foot house on S. Ashley, near the Fleetwood Diner, in Ann Arbor Michigan. Starting from scratch, we built the entire interior of the store. Packed with tons of Indy comics and a model railroad running through the whole shebang, we were ready to rock! Two years later, the store was overflowing with nerdy goodness and we only wanted more, but there was just no room. So, in 1998 we found a place on the corner of Fourth and Huron that was once a Gulf gas station. With tons of windows and a loft overlooking the first floor, it was here that we gained the extra room to increase our comic volume. In contrast to our first humble, homemade store this was compared (by many) to the grand and palatial Taj Mahal. After nearly three years at Vault #2, it was time once more, to move on up to the East side (E. Liberty, to be precise). Located on the lower level of the lovely Liberty Plaza mini-mall, we were then in the center of downtown Ann Arbor, where we stayed for the next five years. So here we are, all grown up and living on Main St, striving to provide Ann Arbor with a choice selection of prime reading material, really cool toys, and top notch board games for your playing pleasure.
